SoundWay is seeking a candidate with a strong desire to learn and grow as a Data Scientist. As a Data Scientist you will develop tools for data discovery and media and file processing metrics. Develop, update, and maintain executive leadership dashboard for DOMEX processing. Develop data visualizations for subject specific DOMEX data and areas of interest. Ensure timely responses for Requests for Services (RFS) in accordance with the customers’ needs. Works closely with DOMEX SIO to ensure senior leadership questions are answered to their satisfaction. The Data Visualization Specialist will be responsible for the design and creation of visualizations of new high-impact visual applications to make data actionable and facilitate decision making for the customer.

Required Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge/experience with at least one of the following languages: Python, Java, C/C++, C#, or R
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, OR the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience (One year of related work experience may be substituted for one year of education)
  • Must be willing to work in a highly collaborative approach, managing multiple competing priorities and assignments
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possession of excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Must hold a TS/SCI security clearance and  be willing to undergo a polygraph examination

Desired Qualifications

  • Tableau Community contribution and Server Administration experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic and Agile development lifecycle
  • Strong SQL development skills- writing complex queries and stored procedures- SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL
  • Experience with any of the following: parallel query processing, Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Elastic, matplotlib, Git
  • Be able to demonstrate a proven track record of designing and producing meaningful, effective data visualizations using relational and aggregate data sources
  • Deep experience with data visualizations and tools. Experience working with Tableau & Business Intelligence and Reporting experience.
  • Create and maintain executive leadership dashboards
  • Strong technical background and current on modern BI and reporting technologies
  • Develop new tools and processes for information discovery using industry standard software engineering practices and methodologies
  • Strong analytical skills and comfortable working with large data sets and ability to transform data into actionable insights
