General Summary:  Full-time MASINT Systems Engineer will provide engineering expertise as part of a cross-functional team for terrestrial-based technical collection.  The engineer will advise the customer on the development process for specialized MASINT technology.  The ideal candidate will have recent hands-on experience with small-scale hardware development projects. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, quickly understand complex technical concepts and make assessments, and articulate recommendations to the customer.
Responsibilities
·         Serve as the primary engineering expert on a cross-functional team
·         Provide technical input into full project life-cycle, including: requirements definition, developer oversight, and testing and evaluation
·         Serve as the technical interface to an external sensor developer
·         Assess technical solutions provided by external developers and provide recommendations to the government
·         Translate technical assessments to technically-varied audiences
·         Will split time between two locations: Reston, VA, and Baltimore, MD
·         This position will involve occasional CONUS travel
 
Required Qualifications
·         BS or higher in an applicable engineering discipline (e.g., Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Electrical Engineering)
·         A minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting DOD/IC
·         Expert level knowledge of MASINT development process
·         Recent experience with small-scale hardware development projects and technical requirements definition
·         Self-starter who takes initiative, is quick to understanding tasking, flexible, organized, and understands the big picture but can focus on the mission critical details
·         Excellent written and oral communication skills
·         Critical thinker with proven problem solving skills

·         Hardware integration experience
·         Robotics, machine learning, AI experience
·         Knowledge of systems acquisition process
